A cleaner, faster ShopMCP connection in Claude
We’ve updated how ShopMCP appears inside Claude and other MCP clients.
Instead of loading every available integration tool into Claude’s visible tool list, ShopMCP now uses a smaller set of smart discovery and execution tools by default. Your connected stores, ad platforms, analytics tools, and other integrations are still available — Claude just does not need to see every raw tool upfront to use them.
What this means for you:
-
Your existing ShopMCP connection still works. You do not need to reconnect your workspace or create a new API key.
-
Claude should feel cleaner and less cluttered. The visible tool list is shorter, easier to reason about, and less noisy.
-
Tool calls still reach your integrations. When you ask for Shopify orders, GA4 traffic, Google Ads performance, or another connected data source, ShopMCP finds and runs the right capability behind the scenes.
-
Large results stay easier to work with. ShopMCP can keep bulky outputs out of the chat context and let Claude pull in details only when needed.
The problem this solves:
As ShopMCP added more integrations, Claude had to load and choose from more individual tools. That could make setup noisier, add unnecessary context, and sometimes make tool selection harder than it needed to be. The new model keeps the same connected-data access, but gives Claude a simpler control surface.
If you already had Claude open, restart or refresh your MCP session to pick up the new tool list. If anything looks off, contact us and we can help check your workspace setup.
